If you are a fan of the Moth Radio Hour on NPR then you will know how lucky we are to have a very own live storytelling series here in Gloucester called “Fish Tales.” Founded by Maureen Aylward and the Gloucester Writers Center, Iain and I have enjoyed many an evening of Fish Tales, with themes like “Birth,” “Road Trip,” and “High School.”
In 2017 Maureen concluded hosting an evening of storytellers with the invitation for theme suggestions for upcoming Fish Tales events. Being in the thick of drawing the first I Am More portraits, I figured, why not?
I’m grateful to Maureen and the Writers Center for taking on the theme “I Am More” for Fish Tales on Friday, September 14th at 7:30 at the Rocky Neck Cultural Center:
The storytellers will include two of the I Am More portrait subjects, Anita Pandolfe Ruchman and Ramani Rangan, along with more local residents with their 5 minute personal stories related to the theme. Expect stories of healing, laughter, and lots of surprises. Guest host, Nicole Richon-Schoel, is a local psychotherapist who specializes in trauma recovery.
This sounds really exciting! I hope there is a good crowd! Love, Mom >
