Last night the I Am More elves swept into Northshore Mall to change out the art in front of Macy’s and spent the car ride home battling between Margaritaville and Grateful Dead Radio, finally agreeing on 70s on 7 in order to hear the calming voice of I Am More subject, Jonathan, The Voice of 70s on 7, after a long, steamy day.
The schlepping in the high humidity was worth it, as always, as we were able to share Part 2 of “Dear Professor, I Am More” from Salem State University. There are new drawings, collage, paintings, poetry, and a quilt about self-care from the Bachelor of Social Work Group, to express to the faculty and administration how these individuals are more than a student in a classroom:

The featured topic this month is Mental Illness Support, with Justin’s portrait about anxiety and panic attacks as the focal point. It’s accompanied by information about NAMI support groups on the north shore and emergency help lines for a variety of topics, available 24/7:

There are lots of old favorites on display this month to accompany the resources:

You can still see Dave with dolphin about his experiences with Multiple myeloma, Chris and friends about growing up in a place where there’s no time for childhood, and Cindy about depression in the clergy. There are also new resources for veterans.
Many thanks to our friends at Northshore Mall who continue to provide this valuable space, and to my fellow elf who makes it fun every month.
