This week NBC Boston aired a piece about the I Am More exhibit at Burlington Mall, and they had a special interest in one particular portrait. I was not aware that June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, so they asked if we could speak about my parents’ portrait, which had its first public unveiling in this exhibit.
If you know me at all you know that speaking publicly is not my thing, and makes for a torturous period of anticipation and dread, unlike my husband, who was interviewed by CNN this week like it was any other work day. But the team from NBC Boston were extremely kind and patient, and clearly moved by the project.

The piece aired on Wednesday, and luckily NBC Boston is partnered with New England Cable News, so my parents were able to watch it in Vermont. You can now view the story online here.
A big thank you to Burlington Mall Marketing Director Sheila Hennessy-Drugotch for being a superstar in getting the word out about the exhibit, Nickerson Director of Media Relations Shannon Mulaire for organizing the shoot and sharing her expertise from past years of media, and NBC Boston Reporter Alysha Palumbo and Photojournalist Tony Sabato for getting me through it!

If you have not had a chance to read my parents’ piece about my mom’s recent diagnosis of Early Alzheimer’s you can view it here.
The Burlington Mall I Am More exhibit can be seen through July 1st nearest the Legal Seafood entrance in the center court.

So wonderful to see that Amy. I am so proud of you and all your courageous subjects.
