Dear Professor Has Arrived

You may remember in May I attended the groundbreaking opening of Dear Professor, I Am More at Salem State University. The collection of art and writing, and the discussion that followed, was one of the most inspiring scenes to come out of this project, and I’m proud to say that the exhibition will be on display at the I Am More Mental Health Resource Center & Gallery at Northshore Mall from July through August.

The collection has been split into two parts to accommodate almost thirty pieces by students. Here’s a preview of Part One:

Students in the Maker Space working on their self-portraits

Thank you to the Civic Engagement Fellows and Katelyn Adams for facilitating this amazing project!

And, just as exciting, is the first public unveiling of Dave with dolphin:

His portrait and essay about living with Multiple myeloma cancer are accompanied by information from Cancer Support Community Massachusetts who have online support groups for individuals and families coping with cancer.

Also this month there are new support categories: Veterans Support, Disability Support, and Support for Women with resources for survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse:

Thanks, as always, to Northshore Mall for making a space for mental health.
